More British- Wartime, TQD & Battlefield

As the heading says- More British from Wartime Miniatures, TQD and Battlefield/Blitz.

Wartime Miniatures First. Brilliant miniatures cast in Australia, plenty of great detail, easy to paint and good value for money:

TQD Miniatures- available from CP Models. The detail on these is superb, no chunky lumbering types but realistic proportions. My only beef is that they have slotta bases, but these are easily removed with cutters and a file- I then glue them to a piece of plasticard. I only wish they would make more:

Battlefield/Blitz- have been around for a while, I have been using their useful selection of British Commandos. The helmeted figure on his own was from their Commando set too, but I have painted it up for my regular infantry as I wanted all my Commandos to have Berets:

Here's some groups shots:

  1. These TQD miniatures are surely the best (alongside the AB ones). Too bad they don't make many, you're right there John.
Aside from that, you did an excellent job on the whole lot of them. :)
And, I ordered the book of the 43rd Wessex Wyvers (from play.com) for 10 quid!! :)Thank you very much for your help! :)

Another good book when you finish that one is "Assault Crossing" by Ken Ford.

  2. Very nice figs John. Just got back from the swap meet. I picked up a Humber Mk IV. It looks pretty good. I'll send you an email when I've had a proper look at it...

    Cheers, Dave

    1. Yes, me too- I know metal fans might not agree, but I think that they have the look of some plastic figures, nice clean lines and fine, but not overstated, detail.

    1. Thanks Dan, I guess I've painted quite a few- still have as stack more in drawer to do. My earlier efforts I'm not so keen on now, I used to finish them with a brushed on matt varnish but I reckon it muddys the figure- i just give em a spray of dullcoat now instead.

    1. Mwahahahahahah...the lure of the metal.....
I have no problems with mixing plastic, metal & resin stuff- as long as it looks good, fits in and doesn't break the bank ;)
I think people who look down their noses at plastics are really missing out on some great stuff.

17th Century Characters...mostly

Here are some 17th Century character miniatures I finished recently.  28mm metal, mostly from Wargamer Poland: https://sklep.wargamer.pl/gb...
