88th Foot (Connaught Rangers) - Centre Company Men

These are the first pictures of a recently finished commission for fellow Australian wargamer & blogger. They are intended to represent men of the 88th Foot, Connaught Rangers during the Peninsular Campaigns, for use in games of "Sharp Practice 2". There were 52 miniatures in total, all from Perry Miniatures & a combination of their plastic & metal 28mm ranges. These pictures are of Centre Company men. Light Company & Command figures - as well as a group shot - will follow in due course.
I was asked to give the figures a campaign look, which I have done with giving them stubble, faded uniforms, an assortment of trousers, and a coating of dust to knees, elbows & feet. The Perry metals have a campaign look with patches, tears, creases & holes already on the sculpts.
My customer will be doing his own basing to match in with the excellent French force he has already painted.
I had forgotten just how much work painting Napoleonics can be - all those straps, lace & piping... Phew!

I hope you enjoyed these shabby veterans, there will be more to follow....
