A step back into the 17th Century - ECW/30YW

I finished this project recently for an Australian collector, it was great fun! The miniatures are all from Warlord Games Pike & Shotte range, and very splendid the sculpts are too. I particularly enjoyed painting King Charles & Cromwell. I posted some videos on Youtube about my progress if you're interested in checking those out.

All the best,
John.

  3. Simply stunning as usual, and I really admire your use of yellow John.

It is one colour I try to avoid as, no matter what brand I try, it always seems to take me at least three runs over the same territory to obtain any semblance of depth.

The artillery pieces also look superb.

    1. Hi Lawrence, cheers for the kind words.
I find the key with yellow is to start with a base colour like an ochre or brown before applying the yellow itself.

  4. Ah, you've done a fine job on the puff and slash. Your Cromwell is particularly fine - irascible and warty!
