Another unit of the war-band revealed! 28mm metal figures from Gripping Beast. The shields are a 50/50 mix of freehand & LBMS decals (can you tell which is which?). Still more levy troops to be photographed, but I think I might take some pictures of more heavily armoured warriors next :-)
Canny readers may also notice that some of the cast spears have been replaced with the brass rod variety.
All the best,
John.

Here are some 17th Century character miniatures I finished recently. 28mm metal, mostly from Wargamer Poland: https://sklep.wargamer.pl/gb...
Splendid!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! :-)
DeleteGreat stuff, and you can't tell the difference between the decals and hand painted shields in the pictures. Although between these and the adaptation of Bernard Cornwall's 'The Last Kingdom' being shown on TV here, I am in danger of becoming interested in another period :-)
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Alan. Yep, I find the "Dark Ages" era my favorite thing to paint & collect.
DeleteBeautiful work John!
ReplyDeleteCheers Rodger.
DeleteThey look great. The thinner spears are an improvemet too.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pete.
Thanks Pete. The thinner spears are certainly more robust, but a lot sharper if you happen to catch them with your fingers :-D
DeleteBeautiful and fearsome warband! Nice work on the shields!
