A fun project I completed for a local wargamer's collection. Miniatures are Gripping Beast 28mm metal with Little Big Man Studios shield decals. The bases include some larger Gamers Grass tufts along with Leadbear's Tufts.
The idea was to give them a wee bit of plaid without being over-the-top, along with some heather looking tufts helping to suggest a Scots Warband.
I have shared many of the pictures on Facebook, but by no means all, and certainly not in one post - this one has 70 images :-) Things can soon disappear on FB but the Blog is still a great place for sharing projects.

ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, it's always great to be able to do the basing on a project - some folks prefer to do their own.

Thanks Pete :-)
DeleteAmazing miniatures! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them :-)
DeleteVery nice! Nice work on the plaid, gives a nice distinct look to them. Particularly fine work on the standard and the foot and mounted warlords, I keep trying different techniques on red but you seem to have it cracked.
ReplyDeleteCheers Alan. I seem to have quite a few reds in the paint arsenal now, including a couple of triads. I find the key is to use a light grey undercoat, block in deepest red shade, apply a sepia type wash, then back over with base colour & gradually highlight up.
DeleteA wonderful guide to painting, thank you!
