Here's a selection of Greeks & Early Republican Romans that I've painted in recent times - even a couple of Harryhausen type Greek skeletons.
Miniatures are from Wargames Foundry, Footsore Miniatures, Aventine Miniatures & Wargames Atlantic - all 28mm. Hope you enjoy them. If you have any questions about them please leave a comment :-)
Incredible work as always, especially on the shields and on the expressive faces, excellent!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Phil :-)
DeleteWonderful work, sir !
ReplyDeleteThe shields are very nice, but I really love the way you've painted the bronze on those skeletons.
Thanks, glad you like them :-)
DeleteSplendid, like the muted colours, just right.
ReplyDeleteCheers Phil :-)
DeleteTerrific work. The bronze on all the armour looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Lawrence :-)
DeleteNice work on these - I really enjoy the muted / desaturated tones you use.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Fire Monkey :-) One day I'm going to surprise myself & paint something intensely bright & colourful......maybe ;-)
DeleteWell those certainly bring back fond memories of watching movies on an otherwise dreary bank holiday! Love the effect you've got on those skeletons shields, love to know how you did that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alan. I will find you the recipe.....
Delete"Ancient Bronze" Paint Recipe (if you don't have these brands of paint I'm sure similar looking alternatives will work too) : Scale 75 Negro Gold - P3 Armour Wash - blotches/stippling of Vallejo Model Colour Bronze Green - blotches/stippling of Scale 75 Red Leather - stipple Scale 75 Elf Gold over areas that might be rubbed or worn - apply Secret Weapon Green Wash for verdigris effect. Hope that works for you :-)
Magnificent as ever John. The last few seem to have taken undress uniform a bit too far!
ReplyDeleteThanks James :-D
