today, a 1/72 War Elephant and crew from Zvezda - I hope you like it :)
Painted for my son's collection.
This will be an entry for The Guild Wargamers "Armour" Group Build too.
Here are some 17th Century character miniatures I finished recently. 28mm metal, mostly from Wargamer Poland: https://sklep.wargamer.pl/gb...
Excellent work all around. This makes me feel like spending the 30$ they're priced at my local hobby shop!

Thanks FF.
Delete$30 seems a bit steep, the set goes for about $20 from Model Hobbies in the UK, even with postage should still be about $25.
Whoa, Nellie!
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely work, JS. I expecially like the detail you've achieved with the elephant's skin.
Cheers mate :) The nice wrinkly Heffalump sculpt made it easier to paint.
ReplyDeleteMate! That's fantastic! See, painting ancients is fun!
ReplyDeleteHa! I knew you'd say something like that, trying to entice me into your Ancient snare of doom :D
DeleteThanks for saying such nice things though ;)
Oh, go on, admit it - that was much more fun than painting yet more kakhi!
DeleteNooooooooo.....I must have my Battledress Brown, my own, my precioussssss ;) Good Sméagol likes to help but painting Ancients on a regular basis is too much ......aaaarrrggghhhh....
Delete:-)
DeleteVery nice work, but I bet you still snuck some khaki on there somewhere ;-) I saw the set of Elephant Armour they have at the Royal Armouries Museum a couple of years back, must have been bloody terrifying facing one of these in the flesh!
ReplyDeleteNo, the brush didn't go near Khaki or "English Uniform" on this occasion - I'll have to paint some Tommies to get my fix.....;-)
DeleteI'm glad you liked the Jumbo, I certainly wouldn't like to have been in its path either.
Wow! Cavalry is colourful, camelry is cool but Jumblery is just the business. I can hardly believe it's plastic. Fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteYes, no mumbo jumbo here ;-)
DeleteThanks for the kind words Simon.
very nice, excellent work
ReplyDeleteThankyou Mr Vulcan, "Live Long & Prosper" ;-)
DeleteThat is simple magnificent John!
ReplyDeleteSimply magnificent... apologies for the typo!!
DeleteThanks James, jolly decent of you to say such things :-)
DeleteExcellent, really excellent, I love htis elephant!
