I have posted twice before about the Scarab Miniatures WW1 French that I have been painting, today is another update on my progress. There is still much to do, so expect to see more in the future, including artillery.
I have painted eyes on these most recent efforts as I can now see fine detail a whole lot better using my new headband magnifier. I wear glasses for reading & painting normally, but was finding that for especially detailed sections they were just not enough - and yes I have a well lit painting area too - so I have invested in magnification. I only use the magnifiers when I have to do really fine stuff, my glasses are fine for blocking in & stuff like that.
I hope you enjoy this latest batch of French:

Orcs! Those nasty servants of Morgoth or Sauron and general troublemakers. This is my first painted unit of 12 using the Oathmark plast...
Lovely work as usual. I don't think I could survive without my Optivisor nowadays.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence.
DeleteYes, I'm very glad I have the extra magnification now when I need it :-)
Yep, have to concur - I am of the age where the Optivisor comes in handy just to read the texts on my phone! ;) (Much to my wife and daughters embarrassment!)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful painting.
Steve
Thanks Steve :-)
DeleteHehe, yeah I sure need that magnification in my late 40's.
Really effective painting work
ReplyDeleteI need to remove my glasses for painting but not need yet a magnifier... being 53 won't too long though
Cheers Anibal :)
DeleteYes I've had glasses for the close up stuff since I was a teen - having hobbies that involve detail, along with spending a lot of time in front of computers, probably hasn't helped ;-)
