Here's just a few of the animals I've painted for my Dark Age table, either as "set dressing" or scenario stuff. The sheep and Highland Cattle are from Gripping Beast, the wee badger is from Warbases - all for 28mm:
Cheers,
John.

Orcs! Those nasty servants of Morgoth or Sauron and general troublemakers. This is my first painted unit of 12 using the Oathmark plast...
Love the period sheep especially.....😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt!
DeleteExcellent! Great additions for the Vikings or whoever to raid.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, very handy as plunder or just decoration :-)
DeleteGreat looking miniatures!
ReplyDeletecheers
Thanks :-)
DeleteI recently got a delivery from Warbases of livestock (Cows, sheep, geese) for my own Dark Ages table to spruce it up a bit. Doubt I'll paint them up as nicely as you've done yours though, those are lovely mate.
ReplyDeleteThey do some cool stuff Warbases, have fun painting 'em up.
DeleteGreat- can't go wrong with a badger imo.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pete.
I want to paint a badger ... I miss it! :) Great
ReplyDeleteThey are one of my favorite English animals - I even have a couple of mugs with badgers on 'em. :-)
DeleteLove these beautiful animals, always impressive on our tables...Splendid!
ReplyDeleteCheers Phil. I took some photos today of some more critters, more anon...
DeleteVery nice. I like them all, but most fond of that badger!
ReplyDeleteHe seems to be the crowd favorite :-)
DeleteI'm very fond of the stag miniature from Warbases too - pictures later...
It's not often you see the Saxon War Badger represented in this scale. Scourge of Viking raiders!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, lovely work. They'd make great objectives in a raid, or unusual 'blinds' for hidden movement (was that a horde of bloodthirsty warriors or an foraging badger I heard?).
Hehe, indeed, the legendary ferocious badger of Wessex, bodyguard of King Alfred himself!
DeleteThese are awesome mate!
ReplyDeleteJust the thing to get my Highlanders out for some clan raiding games :-)
Thanks Paul :-)
