British Combat Engineer Section Complete

It's taken me quite a while to actually finish this section of British, it was hanging around on my workbench for weeks. This is a composite section in terms of being metals and plastics. The metal figures come mostly from AB with one Wartime Miniatures figure, and the plastics are conversions plus a flamethrower bloke from Caesar Miniatures. For the converted plastics I chopped up and combined figures from Airfix and Italeri to get another bloke sweeping for mines & another detonating a charge. Well, here they are, I hope you like them:

AB, AB, Airfix/Italeri Conversion, Wartime, AB

Caesar Miniatures on far left, rest AB.

Wartime, AB, Caesar.

Yes, I know that you probably couldn't roll up battledress sleeves like that- perhaps he's wearing denim? Sign is hand-painted.

I gave the flamethrower bloke some protective leather gloves.

Bloke on the right pushing down the plunger has Italeri body with Airfix head.

  1. Another great set of figs, to be honest I didn't think metals and plastics would mix very well but you make it work well, that ceaser fig fits in really well with the metals, good work.

    1. Thanks Dan. I was glad to get these finally finished. I guess keeping the basing & painting style similar helps a unit like this to look ok as a group.

    1. Glad you like the mix of figures Paul & thanks for your kind words. Yeah, I used a pretty small brush for the sign, I think it was a 20/0 .

  4. You have a unique ability to combine figs from different manufacturers in such a harmonious way. The painting is very consistent and full of details. You really make them stand out! :) Great work once more Jack!
